Cecilia's take on jack-o-lanterns

We were reading a Halloween book today, and Cecilia pointed to an illustration in which a person is removing the top from a jack-o-lantern. She is trying to figure this all out, apparently... she said, "Pumpkin head broken!" Then she said, "Pumpkin head open." I guess it is weird to a kid who has been seeing regular, non-carved pumpkins a lot lately!
