My life with a wonderful husband, living my vocation of raising three girls Catholic in a secular world, finding myself more counter-cultural and farther from the mainstream every day, and trying to grow in patience, knowing that they will not be little for long.

Wordless Wednesday: Figs and Tomatoes from our Garden
It is a food dehydrator. We use it to dry them out and then save them to throw into oatmeal (they get soft again as it cooks), or I can cook them in hot water for a few minutes to reconstitute them and then make fig bars! We get way too many all at one to ever eat them all fresh, so the dehydrator comes in handy. We even dehydrated some watermelon... it ends up like natural watermelon candy!
Erin, what is that white thing that the figs are sitting on?
